So, back to Ashorne CC this time to play them.
A 35-over game was agreed as well as them to bat first.
This felt like a game we all wanted to win, acquit ourselves well and finish tour on a high. And it really was an all round team performance. With George and Ali out injured, Dave Rees was made to play (thank you Dave!) despite his injury.
Will and Matt opened up, each of them bowling their 7 overs in one spell. Will was superb 7-2-20-2 and Matt S, despite conceding 12 off his first three balls then conceded only 20 off his next 39 balls to finish with 7-0-32-1.
Aaron 1-19 off four and Tim L 7-0-24-1 bowled very well - Tim unlucky to miss out on an excellent caught behind when the umpire, disturbed by a reed warbler, didn't hear the thickest of thick edges.
Jeff 0-19 and then Josh 2-12 and Oli 1-16 all bowled well and we'd restricted them to 150 in their 35 overs. As they'd said 220 was a par score in a 40 over match this felt like a good session for EMCC.
We definitely fielded better and bowled well, but the catching still let us down, Josh (again), Oli (both of them) all missing some chances.
But 150 to chase seemed about as good as it was likely to be. But something about limited overs v timed games can get in your head, and although we won, we didn't make things easy for ourselves.
Andrew and Oli opened up, Oli hitting the biggest of big sixes in the 6th over before trying to repeat the trick and being caught at mid-off for 13. Tim L came, edged, walked before being given for 1 and it was 37-2.
Andrew and Will added another 30-odd before there was a mix up, a "run hard (Will), yes (me), no (will), yes yes yes (from me)" and I was stranded turning for a second and run out for 40 departing the field as I heard the umpire saying something along the lines of "there was definitely two there" grrr.
Still I thought, that should focus Will's mind and he'll see us home.
Jeff, Josh and Oli Cooke didn't last long - 88-6 in the 21st and although the run rate wasn't a problem the wickets might be. And when Will was out for 33 (107-7) it felt like there might be too much to do.
But whether by design or just not thinking, Ashorne had bowled their four best bowlers through and so in the 28th over it was time for a double change and Chris M and Dave R were suddenly in friendlier territory. Dave was out with the score on 137 but with a flurry of boundaries, a couple of wides and some good running and Matt S (6no) and Chris M (25no) saw us home with an over to spare.
A proper nail-biter - but so good to see Chris M, who doesn't always inspire confidence with his running and cricket nous, doing a superb job to see off the final over of their best bowler before being more aggressive against the final pair of bowlers.
And so we'd won.
Unbeaten on tour, no arrests, everyone still talking to each other, it was generally considered that Warwick had been a great place to tour.
Just time to choose our player of tour - Will A / our man of tour - Ollie Cooke / our champagne moment of tour - Tim L catching on the boundary / our teddy bear moments - Josh H's catching.
Thank you to Ali for organising, Tim & Chris for driving and everyone else for making it such a success. Whoop Whoop.
