Full Match Report

A mid season wobble.
On further analysis of 4 losses: 2 alcohol related games on tour, Stoner were just better and Elsted had a man who did good things to get them over the line. As a captain I felt a duty to get us back on track and what better way than winning the toss and batting on a green pitch in the summer sun at our home ground. Please note, all losses were also away!
Ali, the miracle in our loss against Stoner strode to the crease with Lakh. The platform built nicely, albeit slowly due to the lack of singles and twos exploited. Lakh was dismissed with 55 on the board after 17 overs. Ali accelerated whilst in with Aussie Tim. Tim, played fluently and will be disappointed to be bowled on 18. I strode to the crease to help Ali on his merry way. With 100 on the board we had free rein to express ourselves. I enjoy batting with Ali, every scoring shot is run hard and the score climbed quickly adding 60 in 7 overs before Ali finally missed a straight one. Well batted for 72. Tim Clay came and enjoyed the fun smashing cleanly a 27 before being caught in the deep. Dave Rees kept the foot on the gas and ran well and we finished on 256 off 42 overs, Dave not out 15 and myself 79.

At tea we felt good. After tea we felt full. After 5 overs we felt shocked. A bit of wayward bowling first up helped them amass 45. Luckily when the Aussie overseas smashed one back at Wayne, he dived, missed the catch but parried it onto the stumps running out the non stricker. Well done Wayne!
Wayne was replaced by Tim and with Aussie vs Aussie there was no doubt ours wood win and he spooned a catch up. Their threat level dropped and we seeked wickets.
Nick Sole bowled brilliantly 6 overs 1-21,Lakh had a dabble, Tim too. We kept removing wickets shared by everyone. But alas, we just couldn?t remove the rocks at the end. I must note that today, batting was easy. The track was well paced, no poor bounce and very little in it for the bowlers. So to get 10 wickets was going to be a hard task. So well done. Back on top and playing well.
